Rascarrel Texels was founded in 1989 as a side interest for Tommy and Fiona MacTaggart, which would give them a break from the dairy enterprise on the farm. Since that time the flock and family have both grown and now includes Fiona, Matthew, Ewan, Tom and Rebecca’s Auchencairn Flock.
Rascarrel and Auchencairn Texels have become an influential and well known and part of the British Texel breed. The flock has produced quality stock and commercial rams, with a particular emphasis on the female lines, many of which have gone on to make their mark in other Texel Flocks both new and old.
The Texels have become been part of the family business and the whole family are involved in the running and showing of the flock.
Visitors to Rascarrel Farm, which lies on Rascarrel Bay, in Dumfries and Galloway on the picturesque South Coast of Scotland are always welcome. Rascarrel also has a holiday cottage so visitors relax and chill while here.
We all hope you enjoy our website!
